Admission Authority

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy.

On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.

All applications are coordinated through Nottinghamshire County Council or Nottingham City Council dependent on where you live. If you have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the NCC Admissions Team on 01623 433499 or the Nottingham City Admissions Team.

Please ensure that you follow BOTH steps below, this will avoid any delay in your application for a place at our school.

Step 1:

If you are applying for a place and your child is a baptised Catholic, you MUST download and complete this (forms are also available from the school office):

Supplementary form

You must also provide a copy of your child’s baptism certificate and return these documents to the school office before the closing date. Without this additional information, we cannot class your child as a Catholic.

Step 2:

Complete the admissions form sent to you by Nottinghamshire County Council or Nottingham City Council

Children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 will be starting school for the first time (Reception year) in September 2024.

The closing date for applications is 15 January 2024 for first admissions and transfer from infant to junior/primary education.

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to Nottinghamshire Council Council by completing the LA Common Application Form and following the instructions on the LA website. 

If you are applying for a place on faith grounds, you will also need to complete a supplementary form:

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2021/22 will be applied. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt. 

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round will be added to the school’s Waiting List unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The Waiting List will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year.  The Local authority manages the waiting list for Sacred Heart Catholic Voluntary Academy.
