Year 6 is a special and memorable year as pupils become the eldest members of our school community. With this comes increased responsibility: Year 6 children are expected to model positive behaviour, show maturity, and act as role models by nurturing and supporting younger pupils. They are encouraged to lead by example, demonstrating kindness, respect and our shared Gospel values in everything they do.

Academically, expectations are high as pupils prepare for the challenges of Year 6 learning and the end-of-key-stage assessments (SATs). Children are supported to think deeply, work independently, and develop resilience and confidence when tackling more demanding learning across the curriculum. A strong emphasis is placed on taking responsibility for learning and striving to do their very best.

Alongside hard work, Year 6 also offers many exciting opportunities, including leadership roles, special events and enrichment experiences that celebrate their journey through primary school. Throughout the year, our Catholic faith remains central, with regular prayer, reflection and opportunities to live out Gospel values, helping pupils to grow not only academically but spiritually and personally as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
