Year 4 Tudor Experience

The children enjoyed a fun packed day at Wollaton Hall. Started with a welcome to the year 1588, and the opening of the new hall.

The children learned how to courtesy and the steps to a traditional Tudor dance for later in the day when Sir Francis Willoughy would be at the hall.

We then had a tour around a traditional Tudor kitchen and learned about the foods of the day and the new spices, fruits and vegetables that were bring introduced to Britain at the time.

Later we listened to stories of Sir Hugh Willoughby's attempts to travel around the world via the Northern hemisphere and the gruesome tale of the disaster that befell him and his men.

During the finale, we dressed in Tudor costume, greeted Sir Francis and danced for him.

The children were a credit to the school and themselves, well done Year 4!
